It’s no secret that the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels put on one of the best aviation shows in the world. After all, that’s their only mission; to show the dedication and discipline of Naval aviators.
The Blues perform about 70 shows throughout the year in over 30 locations. This particular shot was taken during the Chicago Air and Water show. With hundreds of thousands of spectators over the weekend, the Navy display team did not fail to put on a great show.
The Blue Angels are a recruiting tool for the Navy.
What makes this flyby different than most we’ve seen is that they flew right next to a building and over the city. As far as we know, the Blue Angels typical fly over water or fields to minimize danger for the spectators, but here they’re clearly close to a populated area.
Not that we’re complaining. That’s one great display if you ask us.
