That’s Way Too Close For Comfort

This clip is a bit old, more than 10 years actually, as evidenced by the poor video quality. The incident took place at Ellsworth Air Force Base which is located around 10 miles northeast of Rapid City just outside of Box Elder, South Dakota. A General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon got a little too close to a B-1 Lancer that’s getting ready for takeoff. So what happened?

The F-16 tipped over while the B-1 continued to take off. This probably wouldn’t have happened if the fighter aircraft pilot simply waited a bit longer. He definitely learned his lesson.
