The Saab 37 Viggen is probably one of the most popular European-made aircraft introduced in the late 1970s. With its distinctive delta wing design and powerful afterburner, the Viggen was a marvel of engineering when it was first ushered into service.
Its double-delta supersonic fighter variant, the AJS-37 Viggen, became the backbone of the Swedish Air Force during the Cold War.
Now, 18 years after its retirement, the AJS-37 can still easily draw crowds of aviation enthusiasts.
