The crowds at the NAS Key West airshow were lucky enough to see pilots from VFC-111 Sun Downers perform a special airpower demonstration using their five beautiful F-5N Tiger IIs.
Sun Downers were established in 2006 and currently serve as aggressors that mimic enemy techniques to train US Navy pilots.
Easily the best part of the video came at 7:20, where we could see four F-5Ns fly together in close formation before they eventually split up in different directions. The high-speed diamond breakout maneuver looks like something out of a Top Gun movie!
Aside from the breakaway, the Tiger IIs also performed a number of rolls, loops, and low passes to the crowd’s amazement. Check them out below!
