Protecting your land is the highest priority of a military and the first line of protection begins with the skies. An enemy aircraft can penetrate the skies in the blink of an eye and attack a defenseless city or structure. For this reason, it is necessary to not remain defenseless to airborne attacks and use the latest and greatest anti-aircraft weaponry.
In order to protect their airspace, Russia uses the Tor M2 surface-to-air missile system. These short-range munitions are capable of taking down anything that gets near them from planes, helicopters, missiles and other flying objects within a medium to low-level altitude.
"The Tor-M2 missile system can operate 24 hours a day, in all weather conditions."
These systems can be stationary or mounted on trucks and tanks for added mobility to cover an extended target area range. A since Tor-M2 can process up to 48 targets at once while tracking ten targets.
This video shows an entire row of Tor-M2s mounted on tanks showing what they can really do. It's quite an impressive sight and will make you think twice about going anywhere near their protected airspace. Seriously, you will want to watch this over and over after seeing just how effective they are.
