Their Sound Alone Will Make Your Hair Standup.

The good ol’ Bone. For those of you who don’t know this (and sorry to those who do) this nickname derived from this plane’s designation. Called B-1 Lancer, its name written out would be B-one. Or Bone.

Now that we got that out of the way, let’s see what we have here.

This footage was just recently taken as the 9th Bomb Squadron was taking off to Guam to support the Continuous Bomber Presence mission. What better way to do that than to send a couple of fully stacked B-1s as a show of force to North Korea?

Although a newsworthy event, the thing that we’re focusing on there is the takeoff. As aviation fanatics, getting buzzed by these behemoths makes for a good day. Here, you’ll get to see and hear two.

The video was made by Tech. Sgt. Nicholas Filip of the 7th Bomb Wing, so he had some great access to the runway. Setting himself up for right at the end it, he got a beautiful shot of the takeoffs and judging by the sound, got a nice mic too.

Enjoy.
