The Best Air Show Ever?

Fighter jets and snowy mountains are an unbeatable combo. This four-minute 4K video shows F/A-18 Hornets from the Swiss Display Team performing flybys during AXALP.

The event happened at Axalp-Ebenflush Shooting Range on October 14, 2021. The Shooting Range sits in a natural amphitheater at 7365 feet ASL and roughly 750 meters above Axalp. During these events, the fighters are expected to maintain their altitudes while aiming and firing in a very short time frame.

As you can see from the video, this is something you’d expect to see from a big-budget action movie. 

Seeing these fighters in action isn’t easy though. Most of the 10,000 visitors making the trip have to hike up the mountains for a few hours.

For the lucky few VIPs, the Swiss Air Force uses six Super Puma and Cougar helicopters for transport.
