ArcturanMegadonkey was certainly at the right place at the right time. The YouTuber was able to capture several close-ups of the AWACS, Eurofighter Typhoon, and the Panavia Tornado GR4 as they took off from RAF Coningsby.
Some of the highlights from the video include the rearview shot of the AWACS as it takes off @ 0:30, the Tornado activating its afterburners @ 6:30, and the Typhoon doing the same thing @ 8:15.
According to one experienced commenter, these fighters are all based at RAF Coningsby. The Typhoons belong to the No. 29 Squadron of the RAF, which is one of the world’s oldest active fighter squadrons today.
Which among the three was your favorite? So far, the YouTube comments are leaning toward the Tornado. We don’t blame them!
