Cargo handling is vital to the US military’s success. The Military Sealift Command supervises the Navy’s replenishment and transport ships, while the Navy Cargo Handling Battalion provides logistical cargo handling support wherever necessary. 

As seen in the video, the NCHB personnel attaches a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle to cargo straps using D-rings for easy transportation. Each of these strong Magnum straps can easily handle 150,000 lbs of cargo.

When raised, the crew guides the 10-ton vehicle with ropes to limit the swaying. 

In another part of the video, the trailer portion of an R-11 fuel tanker is hauled onto the ship from a barge. 

Even though moving such massive cargo is considered risky, it can potentially improve the quickness of American troops to respond to dangerous situations.
