Before any of you get all up in arms about this not being news and this and that, we know. These types of incidents happen all the time and have been doing so since the 50s. It’s a “how close can we get to your border before we test your readiness status” game and both Russia and the U.S. love playing it.
Having said that, we know this is no big deal, but what is interesting is the video itself.
Typically, we might get a declassified picture of the event a few days or weeks down the road, but here, we get a first person view of the Su-27 Flanker pulling up. Not only that, it’s pulling up to a Bone.
One of the airmen probably pulled out his phone and recorded this incident just for a keepsake and lo and behold, it ended up on YouTube for all of us to enjoy.
Watch the Russian pilot pull up cockpit level, hang there for a sec and then dip down under the Bone.
This incident happened on June 11th, 2017 over the Baltic Sea while the RAF were conducting routine training missions.
