This awesome clip comes to us straight from the source, a former Blue Angel who took the time and stood around on the runway while his fellow aviators were practicing. As in every show, the #5 Blue Angel performs a Dirty Roll on take-off while the #6 does a low transition to a high-performance climb.  This is what you’ll be seeing here.

We were fortunate enough to stumble upon the Instagram channel tylerdavies56, who just happens to have been a former #5, #6 and #7 Blue Angel from 2016 to 2018. He’s the one who took that thrilling video below.

The gentleman on the right in the Instagram post above is, in fact, Navy Lt. Tyler Davies of Kennesaw, Georgia. He now flies for the “Gladiators” of Strike Fighter Squadron 106. Their mission is “to train Navy and Marine Corps F/A-18 Replacement Pilots and Weapon Systems Officers (WSOs) to support fleet commitments.”

When Davies is off, he does some good social media work, especially on Instagram. He has almost 11,000 followers and posts some great aviation pictures and videos. The one below we wanted to show you got almost 10,000 views in just two days. You’ll see why when you watch it.
