There are many people who are deathly afraid of flying and only do so as a last resort. The funny thing is that driving 400 miles to your in-laws house astronomically increases your chances of a deadly accident when compared to flying. Statistically, flying is actually the safest form of travel, yet, some folks are still not comfortable with it.
This brings us to the pilots. The one thing that really soothes our minds when flying is the fact that as aviation fans, we know that there’s a good chance the pilot of our flight is ex-military. There’s a timeless joke that goes like this:
Passenger: “Is landing a passenger plane hard?”
Ex-military, now commercial pilot: “No. There’s nobody shooting at me.”
The fact of the matter is that whoever your pilot is, they’re trained to handle many predictable situations. Wind of course is one of them, so when it’s gusting outside, crabbing the aircraft for a landing is not out of the ordinary.
The video will show you just that and although some landings here were harder than others, everyone was safe and sound.
