AR Tech Today

Damian Bailey, a Blackhawk pilot in the Florida Reserves, shows us an inside look at the new V-280 Valor using a HoloLens 2.

The HoloLens 2 displays a pre-programmed model of the systems found within the airframe.

It was only a couple of years ago when the US Army invited Microsoft engineers to a military base in North Carolina for a series of weeklong mini boot camps. This was done to familiarize the engineers with the challenging environments soldiers operate in, so they could use that knowledge to design a mixed-reality headset for military use.

Unfortunately, it’s almost useless for maintenance as it doesn’t show leaks or any other damage.

Nevertheless, this technology can be a great learning tool to train beginners about the ins and outs of the aircraft they are working on.
