Upgraded A-10C

This tank-busting icon is getting pushed for a quick and simple modernization effort. Aside from the iconic GAU-8/A Avenger, AIM missiles, and AGM-65 missiles, there’s more in store for the A-10’s potential trip to Ukraine.

GBU-39 Small Diameter Bombs (SDB) can be used by the A-10C after tests deemed it safe and viable. These 250-pound precision-guided bombs can glide for 46 miles to reach their target. ADM-160 Miniature Air-Launched Decoys (MALD) can also be put to use to confuse and overwhelm enemy-integrated air defense systems. In addition to these, a modern cockpit and a new Conversion Fuel Tank (CFT) are going to be used.

Testing for the AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Missle (JASSM) is still being considered in the near future. For now, these “little” upgrades will do just fine.
