Plane Loses Wheel Mid-air

No One Was Hurt

This incident occurred in January 2020. As you can see in the video below captured by one of the passengers and shared on social media, an Air Canada Express flight lost one of its wheels just seconds after takeoff from the Montreal-Trudeau International Airport runway. Flight 8684 was bound for Bagotville, Canada and had to turn back as the wheel detached from the aircraft’s left main landing gear. They landed safely and the maintenance personnel immediately conducted thorough inspection of the plane.

None of the 52 people on board was hurt or injured. Another airplane was then dispatched to fly the passengers to Bagotville.
