Strengthening Defense Cooperation Between The US and Its Allies

The United States and its allies Japan, France, and Australia conducted a joint exercise this month. The six-day ARC-21 exercise, which took place from May 11 to 16, will help improve tactical defense.

“On the New Orleans we are prepared to flex our amphibious skills with each of the teams here,” U.S. Navy Capt. Brian Schrum, commanding officer of the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New Orleans (LPD 18) said in a statement, “and strengthen our joint operational capabilities.”

He added that “fostering trust between all our nations” will eventually lead to “a cohesive naval and Marine force.”
